Volunteering
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Metropolitan Affordable Housing Corporation. Volunteers help us continue to offer programs and services to our residents. Listed below are the volunteer positions we currently have available. If you are interested in helping and don't see a position that interests you, please call us and we will do our best to help you make a difference in your community. Contact us at 1-541-683-1751 to find out more or to fill out a volunteer application.
Kids Club Helper: Volunteers help the Kids Club program coordinator to set-up, clean-up, and participate in activities at weekly Kids Club. This includes arts and crafts, games, outside activities, and occasional off-site field trips. A three-month commitment is encouraged. Kids Club meets once a week for two hours.
Childcare Assistants: Metro provides childcare for many of the programs offered at the community center. Volunteers would assist Metro staff with providing childcare while residents attend on-site programs and classes. Days and times to be arranged for these positions.
Extra Helping Drivers: The Extra Helping program provides food that needs to be picked up from Food for Lane County and brought back to the community center for distribution. This program is offered once weekly at each site. Volunteers are asked to help drive to and from Food for Lane County and pick up and distribute food at the community center. Resident volunteers are strongly encouraged.
Summer Lunch Assistants: Summer lunches are available on-site and volunteers help setup, distribute lunches, and clean-up. This free summer lunch program is sponsored by Food for Lane County. This program is offered during the summer months and a one to three month commitment is encouraged.
Program Coordinators: Several programs are still in the planning stages and volunteers are always needed to help us plan and implement new programs at each community center. If you would like to help with networking in the community and providing more programs, please volunteer!
Community Event Planners: Each property has events such as spring parties, summer barbeques, Halloween parties, Thanksgiving dinners, and Holiday Events. Volunteers are needed to help staff and residents plan these parties with food, fun and games and good times for everyone. Volunteers are needed during the planning and duration of each event, about 10 hours per month. If you are interested and like to help plan fun social events, please volunteer today.
